Iseabail Strachan
CEÒLADAIR | MUSICIAN
Iseabail Strachan is an accordionist, banjo player and singer based between Skye and Glasgow. Having been immersed in Gaelic language and culture growing up in south Skye, she has been playing music since her childhood. Alongside her work as a community musician and tutor, she performs at ceilidhs, concerts and community events across Scotland and further afield. She has performed with her sister Ester at Tradfest in Dublin, Under Canvas and Eden Court. In March 2025, Iseabail released her debut album Uiseag Aiseig at an intimate concert at her local hall, Talla Bhreacais in Skye.
Uiseag Aiseig, pronounced "ooshak ashik", means skylark of Ashaig. The album is a collection of tunes and songs Iseabail has been playing and singing over the past few years. Her music takes influence from the natural world, her home village of Ashaig in south Skye and her travels to North Carolina. The album, co-produced by Iseabail and Barry Reid of Rose Croft Studio in Muir of Ord, features various musicians from Skye and Lochalsh.
