Accordion Showcase
Join us for an afternoon of mostly accordion music - a celebration of the squeezebox! There will be performances by some of my pupils of different ages and a couple of ceilidh dances too! There will also be tea, coffee and home baking. Pay what you can at the door. All proceeds will go towards providing subsidised accordion lessons to young people in Skye & Lochalsh.
Bidh fàilte romhaibh | All welcome.
Seinn Còmhla ri Linda
Nach tig sibh còmhla rinn airson bùth-obrach seinn còmhla ri Linda NicLeòid ann an Talla Bhreacais. B’ ann an Uibhist a Tuath a thogadh Linda, is às dèidh cha mhòr fichead bliadhna ann an Glaschu ghluais i a Bhreacais bho chionn ghoirid. B’ e a’ Ghàidhlig a’ chiad chànan aice agus tro h-òige an Uibhist, bha i riamh air a cuairteachadh le òrain, sgeulachdan agus dualchas an eilein. Ann an 2010 cheumnaich i bho Oilthigh Ghlaschu le ceum ann an Gàidhlig is an uair sin chuir i seachad bliadhna eile a’ rannsachadh òrain a’ Bhaile Shear, is cheumnaich i le MPhil ann an Gàidhlig ann an 2011. An-diugh tha Linda ag obair na preasantair air CBeebies ALBA agus Mire ri Linda air BBC Radio nan Gàidheal.
Cosgais £5.
Tha sinn taingeil do Bhòrd na Gàidhlig airson taic-airgead a thoirt don bhuidheann Seinn Còmhla.
Come along for a Gaelic song workshop with North Uist singer Linda MacLeod. After living and working in Glasgow for almost twenty years, Linda recently moved to Breakish. Gaelic was her first language and during her childhood she was always surrounded by local songs and stories. She graduated from the University of Glasgow many years ago with an MA honours degree in Gaelic and then spent a year researching the Gaelic songs of Baleshare for an MPhil. Today Linda works as a presenter on CBeebies ALBA and presents Mire ri Linda on BBC Radio nan Gàidheal.
We are grateful to Bòrd na Gàidhlig, for supporting the work of our group, Seinn Còmhla.
